چکیده
Currently, the threshold T must be entered manually, based on given or estimated values for the SNR of the degraded image. Future work will look at ways to automate this process. Also, we found that at very low SNR, the AMP median filter introduces a few speckles into the restored image. We suspect that this may be due to incorrect adaption in regions of exceptionally high noise levels. Further research is needed to overcome this problem.

Multistage Median Ranked Set Sampling for Estimating the Population Median
We modify RSS to come up with new sampling method, namely, Multistage Median Ranked Set Sampling (MMRSS). The MMRSS was suggested for estimating the population median and to increase the efficiency of the estimator for specific value of the sample size. The MMRSS was compared to the Simple Random Sampling (SRS), Ranked Set Sampling (RSS) and Median Ranked Set Sampling (MRSS) methods. It is foun...
متن کاملOptimal Stack Filtering and the Estimation and Structural Approaches to Image Processing
Rank-order based filters such as stack filters, multilevel and multistage median filters, morphological filters, and order statistic filters have all proven to be very effective at enhancing and restoring images. Perhaps the primary reason for their success is that they can suppress noise without destroying important image details such as edges
متن کاملSegmentation-Assisted Dirt Detection for the Restoration of Archived Films
A novel segmentation-assisted method for film dirt detection is proposed. Since dirt manifests as a cluster of pixels whose intensity differs from that of its neighbourhood, we employ segmentation and assume that each small region as a dirt candidate. The assumption is validated by considering raw (non-motion compensated) differences between the current frame and each of the previous and next f...
متن کاملRobust Implementations of the Multistage Wiener Filter
Robust Implementations of the Multistage Wiener Filter By John David Hiemstra The research in this dissertation addresses reduced rank adaptive signal processing, with specific emphasis on the multistage Wiener filter (MWF). The MWF is a generalization of the classical Wiener filter that performs a stage-by-stage decomposition based on orthogonal projections. Truncation of this decomposition pr...
متن کاملSolving large p-median problems by a multistage hybrid approach using demand points aggregation and variable neighbourhood search
A hybridisation of a clustering-based technique and of a Variable Neighbourhood Search (VNS) is designed to solve large-scale p-median problems. The approach is based on a multi-stage methodology where learning from previous stages is taken into account when tackling the next stage. Each stage is made up of several subproblems that are solved by a fast procedure to produce good feasible solutio...
